Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CineDay Local (“CineDay Local”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the CineDay Local app (the “App”).
CineDay Local is a private, on-device video player. It does not require an account and does not upload the videos you import to our servers. The App may display advertising from Google AdMob. Please read this policy together with our Terms of Service. By using the App, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Privacy highlights
- No account, sign-in, or cloud library
- Videos, folders, titles, covers, and watch progress stay on this device
- Your library is not used to personalize ads
- The App may show ads from Google AdMob, which can use device identifiers
- You can limit ad tracking in system Settings
- You can delete items in the App, or remove the App, at any time
1. Who we are
CineDay Local lets you import videos you already have on your device, organize them into folders, trim clips, and resume playback. The App may also show banner, native, interstitial, rewarded, or app-open ads.
Support and privacy contact: mengsuyuan@mengsuyuan.site
2. Information processed on your device
Your library is processed locally in the App’s private storage on this device. We do not receive this library as an account profile.
This may include:
- Video files you choose to import or trim, and still-image covers generated from those files
- Titles, file names, folder names, file size, duration, and the date a video was added
- Watch progress and last-played time so you can resume
- Appearance preference (system, light, or dark)
Library search text is used only to filter the list on this device and is not stored as a search-history account.
3. Imports, exports, and copies
When you import from Photos or Files, the App copies the selected video into its private documents area so playback can continue even if the original picker location later changes. Deleting a video in CineDay Local removes that App copy. It does not automatically delete the original in Photos or Files.
When you trim a clip, the new file is saved into the local library. If you export to Photos or Files, the clip is written to the destination you chose, under that system’s own rules.
If you use device or account backups (for example iCloud Backup or Google backup), the App’s local files may be included in those backups. Those backups are controlled by Apple, Google, or your backup provider — not by CineDay Local.
4. Permissions
The App asks for access only when a feature needs it. You can change permissions in system Settings.
- Photos (read): import videos you select from your photo library
- Photos (add only / write): save a trimmed clip to Photos when you choose that destination
- Files / storage: import from the system Files app and export clips you choose to save there
- Network: load ads, optional fonts, in-app review, and sending email
- Tracking (iOS): if shown, App Tracking Transparency lets you allow or deny tracking across apps and websites for personalized ads
We do not scan your entire photo library or Files storage in the background. Access is limited to items you pick in the system picker.
5. Advertising
The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), operated by Google LLC, to show ads. Ads may appear as banners, native units, interstitials, rewarded ads, or app-open ads.
Google and its partners may collect and process:
- Resettable advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking; Google Advertising ID on Android)
- IP address, device type, operating system, language, time zone, and carrier or network type
- App instance identifiers and diagnostic data from the ads SDK
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Ad views, clicks, and whether an ad completed (for example a rewarded ad)
This data is used to serve ads, measure performance, detect fraud and invalid traffic, and — where allowed — personalize ads. We do not send your imported videos, titles, folders, covers, or watch progress to AdMob.
On iOS, Apple may ask for permission to track. If you decline, ads can still appear, but they should be non-personalized to the extent the platform and Google allow. SKAdNetwork and similar attribution APIs may still be used to measure campaign installs without giving us your identity.
Google processes this information under its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses data for ads
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
You can limit personalized ads:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
- Google account: adssettings.google.com
6. Other features that may leave the device
- Contact us: if you email support, we receive the address you send from, your message, and any device or log details you choose to include. Do not send videos or sensitive personal data unless needed.
- Rate the app: the in-app review prompt is handled by Apple or Google. We do not receive your rating text through the App.
- Share app: the system share sheet opens with our short App description. We do not collect who you share with.
- Typefaces: the App may load fonts from Google Fonts. That request can include a technical identifier such as IP address.
7. How information is used
On-device library data is used only to provide the App: playback, folders, trim/export, resume, and appearance. Support email is used only to respond to you and to improve the App. Advertising data is used as described in section 5. We do not use your video library to build an advertising profile.
8. Sharing
We do not sell your video library. We do not sell personal information for money.
Independent parties may receive information as follows:
| Party | When |
|---|---|
| Google AdMob | When ads are requested, shown, or clicked |
| Apple or Google | When you rate the App, use OS backup, Photos, Files, or share |
| Your email provider | When you contact support |
| Google Fonts | If a typeface is fetched |
Personalized advertising may be “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out as described in section 5 and section 12.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the App, our users, or others, when we actually hold that information (for example a support email).
9. Retention and deletion
Local library data stays on this device until you delete the video or folder, clear App storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the App’s sandbox copy of your library. Originals in Photos or Files are not removed unless you delete them there.
Advertising identifiers and ad logs are retained by Google under its policies. Resetting your advertising ID or uninstalling the App limits further collection from this installation.
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for ordinary business records, then deleted or minimized.
You can delete individual videos or folders in the App; turn off Photos, Files, or tracking access in system Settings; reset your advertising ID; or uninstall the App. To request deletion of a support email, contact mengsuyuan@mengsuyuan.site.
10. Security
Your library is stored in the App’s private storage provided by the operating system. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for device passcode, screen lock, and who can use the device.
11. Children
The App is a general-audience player and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children and we do not treat the App as child-directed under COPPA. Advertising in the App is not intended for children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child used the App, delete the library or uninstall the App, reset advertising identifiers if needed, and contact us if a support email was sent.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to appeal or complain to a regulator.
For CineDay Local, most library data never leaves your device, so the practical way to access or delete it is on the device itself. For advertising, use the controls in section 5. For support email we hold, contact mengsuyuan@mengsuyuan.site.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. We do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” device and advertising identifiers with Google AdMob as described above. Where required, we rely on consent or other permitted grounds for personalized ads.
13. International use
The App processes your library on your device. Advertising requests and support email may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google or our email provider operate. Those places may have different data-protection laws than your own.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as the App or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the App or an App Store / Play listing where required.
